Firefly Ridge CSA Farm is part of a farm that has been in operation for over a hundred years. Formerly El-Jo Farms and Heavenly Grace Gardens, our property has always been about agriculture. On our 20 acre farm, the mother-daughter team, Laura & Dena, now own a produce company serving the local communities with fresh veggies and fruits. We love sharing our harvest at Farmer's Markets, Market Wagon (Online Farmer's Market to your home), and our 2 produce stands.
We use organic, natural processes, but choose to be not certified to keep the prices of our produce down. We are a caring team, caring for the crops we are blessed with and caring for those who have discovered our healthy produce.
We, Laura & Dena, are super passionate about seeing our patrons become healthier and more aware of the importance of choosing non-chemical produce.
The gardens on the farm are owned and operated by Dena Judd, Farmer's Market Manager, Professional Grower for greenhouse and field crops, and Laura Smith, MSU Master Gardener-1991. We practice sustainable no-dig gardening on our 20 acre farm.
Firefly Ridge offers fresh produce, baked goods, and eggs at the Laingsburg Farmer's Markets. For over a decade, we have provided fresh produce and baked goods each Wednesday from 4-7pm on Roosevelt Row in the beautiful City of Laingsburg.
At our Farmer's Markets (online and in person), we offer our produce and lots of baked goods, including our Artisan breads, over-sized cookies, flavored breads, desserts, and our delicious bars that customers have named "Yummy Goodness."
Besides the Farmer's Markets, we have a very popular produce stand in the very center of town, 115 Crum St., which is open 24/7. Our town has enjoyed the variety of our produce we put on the stand and it has become a place where people appreciate the availability of our produce and come to know us personally. In the 2021 season, we added another produce stand at the farm, nestled into our cut flower garden with our Firefly Garden Shop, offering baked goods, gifts, and Firefly goodies.
We are very proud of what we women have accomplished in the last few years, beginning our 5th season in 2022. We have quadrupled in size twice so far and even though it's extremely hard work, we enjoy every minute of it. As an environmentally verified farm homestead specializing in crops & livestock (hens for eggs), we love that we offer nutritious, healthy, chemical free produce to our communities. We use organic practices, not certified, and plant organic and non-gmo seeds. It's been a great journey and we're just getting started.
Thank you for supporting our venture! We appreciate it so much and can't wait to bless you with what we're growing!
Although we have offered CSA boxes each year and enjoyed getting to know our customers each week for their produce boxes, in 2022, we will not be offering shares of our gardens.
We invite you to visit our stand on Crum St often to pick out produce that is fresh and in season. We also invite you to visit the farm for produce, eggs, baked goods, cut flowers, and to find a treasure in our Firefly Garden Shop.
Crum St produce stand is open 24/7 with a cash box available. 115 Crum St., downtown.
Firefly Ridge Farm, located at 8753 Hollister Rd, is open Mon-Tues, Thurs-Fri, 10-5 for the Firefly Garden Shop. Produce is an honor system until dark.
Since we are running 2 local produce stands, our Firefly Garden Shop, and Market Wagon, we have realized that through the years customers would prefer to choose their own produce instead of getting what we have chosen. We appreciate that and want to offer a full range of products that suit everyone.
This 2022 season, we are planning events at the farm. Our first event will be the first week of summer break, with vendors and a live band.
We accept checks payable to Firefly Ridge,
EBT, all credit cards, Venmo, and Paypal.
We are so grateful for donations that have been previously given to us by local supporters. We are thankful for the refrigeration & freezer units, a hoophouse, a very fancy chicken coop, lots of compost, use of tractors and equipment with the man power to open up our fields for us.
We are so blessed to be in this community!!!
